Ghanaian rapper and lyricist Teephlow has opined that he is in no way perturbed that industry colleague and rapper Sarkodie doesn’t promote his stuff.
Sarkodie ,believed to be one of the very few Ghanaian acts championing the “support your own” mantra has raised queries for the special treatment given to songs and works by Teephlow.
Many believe that because Strongman,an arch rival of Teephlow was signed on to Sarkodie’s record label ,it sort of handicapped him in sharing works of Teephlow.Strongman however has exited the label and the narrative hasn’t changed to the dismay of fans.
On a Twitter spaces hosted by award winning blogger and entrepreneur Kobby Kyei dubbed “Mental Health Of Creatives”, Teephlow addressed a lot of issues concerning his career and when questioned on his relationship with Sarkodie,he said “Sark is very experienced in this country and I don’t think he will want to beef me, let’s all calm down and enjoy our music. Sarkodie gave me the buzz to kickstart my career”.
Also ,the blogger questioned him on whether he thinks Sarkodie supports him enough.To this he said, “The fans should allow Sarkodie to breath, he’s not a blogger to share every song. He’s given so much to the Ghana music industry “ .
He went on to say he has no beef with rapper Medikal and lyrical Joe as he respects both rappers very well.The rap artist also said on the space that he’s back from his early retirement and ready to pursue his music career.He has released a new song to that effect which can be streamed below;
