Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Hon Sam Dzata George has replied investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure for asking him to apologise to the Australian High Commissioner.
The Honorable threatened to beat the Commissioner for championing the campaign for the legalisation of same s*x marriage .
In a Facebook post, Manasseh asked said the comments by Sam George was terrible and a disgrace to the people he represents.
“If the laws of Ghana do not allow homosexuality, those same laws don’t allow an MP to beat up a diplomat. Sam George this is terrible. And it’s a disgrace to the people you represent. Apologise to them and the Australian High Commissioner” Manasseh Azure Awuni
Replying to Manasseh, Hon Sam Dzata George urged him to be silence when he has no wisdom to add to an issue.
In a Facebook post, he said the Australian High Commissioner, Gregory Andres should respect the laws of the country. He queried Manasseh to mentioned the part of Ghanaian culture that supports homosexuality. He advised Manasseh not to be in a haste to have an opinion on every matter.
” Dear Manasseh Azure Awuni, I consider you a friend and would urge you to know that when you do not have wisdom to add to an issue ,silence is a better option.
You want me to apologise to who? For what? What law are you quoting that I have broken? I am not a stooge who is afraid of the white man. Tell your friend that I said if he is a diplomat, he should respect the laws of the country. Simple.
For someone who trumpets against corruption, I would assume that you truly love our country. What part of your culture support homosexuality? What part of upbringing embraces that perversion? I would expect better judgement from you. Do not be in a haste to have an opinion on every matter. I belive the commentary under your own post will indicate to you the pules of the country. The Australian High Commissioner to Ghana has been an instrumental in the legalisation of Homosexuality in Ghana. He recently commissioned their new office in Accra which was later closed down by National Security
