Ghanaian gospel female singer ,songwriter and founder of Celestial praise has said hit out at board members of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, questioning their positions on such a board. She did this in an interview with Andy Dorsty.
The singer who sounded bothered said in a distasteful manner, “I feel majority of the people on the board are not well-informed and updated on gospel music issues”.she elaborated further to justify her thoughts by saying “If we have people who are taking decisions who are not well-informed on what is happening on the grounds, then I’m afraid we are going to have issues”.
The ‘Agbebolo’ hit maker went further ahead to complain about how nominations in some categories are seemingly revolving around a few artistes. She said “It appears some artistes easily win the Female Vocalist of the Year. It seemed to revolved around just 3 artistes. Meanwhile, there are other female vocalists in the country”
Many have envisaged that the comments made by Celestine is a shot at singer Efya who is the most awarded for the female vocalist category. However we are not privy to any feud between the two acts and don’t have much reason to believe there is one .
The VGMA released its list of nominated artists and since then ,there has been uproar on major overlooks for some acts on some categories. The biggest bro have created public discussion is why Kofi Kinaata and Fameye missed out on getting nominated for artist of the year.
