Princess Akua Ohenewaa Asienam of Kokobin,a Uk based Ghanaian singer known as Stephanie Benson has said that she stopped being a panelist and judge on the Vodafone’s reality show ,Vodafone icons because he felt there whole process was staged and influenced.
The performer who is rooted in jazz music and has been described as the ‘queen of jazz ‘ in Ghana was a judge of the reality show in its early days.She even went on to feature some contestants in her personal videos.
Saturday whiles on UTV’s evening show along with Kwame A plus,artiste manager Nana Asiamah Hanson and singer Akiyama,Arnold Asamoah Baidoo quizzed Stephanie why she had to quit with Vodafone icons which she stated “I was staged. No I felt it was staged and as such people who merited rewards weren’t rewarded.I respect my brand so much and didn’t want to be part of anything fraudulent so I just raised my demands over and over till they couldn’t meet them so I could leave”.
The artist went on to reveal that sometimes she felt her being a panelist on the show was an illusion as decisions from the panel didn’t translate to whatever happens in the background.Reality shows like the Vodafone icons has helped the Ghanaian industry to bring artiste like Wiyaala and Bogo Blayyo the limelight.
